Sky Zone

In early April, our 8th-grade class traded the classroom for the clouds, heading inland for an adrenaline-fueled field trip to Sky Zone. More than just a day away from their desks, this excursion served as the ultimate “final exam” for their recent Physical Education tumbling unit, allowing students to translate floor skills into high-flying feats.

Upon arrival, the energy was electric. The park offered a sprawling playground of gravity-defying challenges, including:

  • The Ninja Warrior Course: A true test of agility and grip strength.
  • Aerial Adventures: Students soared across the zipline and took a leap of faith from the trapeze into massive foam pits.
  • Competitive Play: High-stakes games of “bouncy” basketball and dodgeball took the traditional sports to new heights.
  • The Super Jumper: For those looking to maximize their airtime and reach the rafters.

While the variety was endless, the trampolines remained the star attraction. Whether they were perfecting stunts in the individual trampoline squares or competing to see who could dunk the most basketballs, the students were constantly in motion. The “Super Jumper” and “King of the Mountain” challenges pushed them to test their limits, while active video games and ribbon flying provided unique ways to keep the momentum going.

The success of the trip was written on their faces. By lunchtime, the group gathered—red-faced, exhausted, and wearing wide smiles—to recap the morning’s highlights. It was a moment of genuine connection and community before beginning the journey back to the coast.

This trip was about more than just play; it encouraged our students to step out of their comfort zones, embrace physical fitness, and bond with their peers in a unique environment. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to MuddNick for providing the generous opportunity to experience such a memorable and active day.
